F W Huxter Groundworks and Civil Engineering LTD is a family owned and run company, started by Fred Huxter back in 2003. Originally called F W Huxter Plant Hire, it began with just one man and his machine.
Based in the heart of West Dorset, the company has gradually expanded and diversified and is now able to offer a much wider range of Plant and Services.
Company Profile
Fred Huxter is Managing Director and founder of the Company. Many other family members are among the staff including Lucy Huxter, his wife (Company Director & Secretary), Mary-Ann Huxter, his daughter (Office Assistant) and two of Fred's brothers. Despite its size, the Company has retained its family feel and all members of staff are hand picked by Fred himself, chosen for their experience, skill and work ethic. All junior or less experienced employees are trained and supervised by a senior team member some of whom have over 25 years experience!
We are exceptionally lucky to have such an amazingly dedicated and hard working team, without whom the continuing success of the company would not be possible.
Company Training Policy
We are very proud of our company's success and reputation which has been built upon many years of customer satisfaction, this has been achieved through the high standards of our work, the reliability, skill and experience of our team.
All of our staff undergo training to the highest possible industry standards ensuring that each team member has the experience and qualifications necessary for their role in any given job. Many of our team makers have been with us for a very long time, so working their way up from junior labourer to senior team leader over a period of several years.
Our Company Policy is to give all our employees the opportunity to progress though the levels and we firmly believe that doing so helps maintain their enthusiasm and commitment to the work. We have our own site training centre where courses are held throughout the year.
